Carol Cox
Acrylics Carol’s love of creating started while watching her father make beautiful wood furniture and her mother’s sewing ability. Carol’s art career started with ceramics and china painting but was put on hold when she married her childhood sweetheart, Ken, and raised their two daughters. When both girls got married in the same year, there was finally time to résume her art interests. She studied oil painting in New Jersey with Woody Platt and portrait painting with Bob Sempier. Acrylics are her primary medium today and will paint anything that doesn’t move. After visiting the keys three or four times, Carol and Ken sold, donated and discarded everything and moved to Big Pine Key in 1998. She soon found Artists in Paradise Gallery to be a perfect outlet for her creative endeavors. Her art has been displayed in banks, libraries and art galleries in both New Jersey and Florida. Currently, she is on display at Artists in Paradise in Big Pine Key and Artworks in Key West.
