Originally from Ohio, Jaynie came to the lower Florida Keys in 1971 at the age of 9. She grew up between Florida and Ohio spending most of her spare time outdoors in the forrest, the wooded hammocks and fishing and diving with her family in the ocean. Affection and respect for animals and the environment has made its way into her art work and is her mission to make others aware of their importance.

Jaynie majored in Painting & Printmaking earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, in 1992, at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.

She's won Honorable Mention at Virginia Highlands Art Festival and placed 1st and 2nd at Colorfest Art shows at Artists in Paradise Art Gallery.

In 2011 she received an Ann McKee Artists Fund Grant for her paintings of "Native & Invasive Creatures of the Florida Keys".

A member of The Lower Keys Artists Network and The Florida Keys Council of the Arts.

She has studied with Jim Salem for a decade at the Sugarloaf Key Tiki and continues to study there.
